I read this book in half of a day. It was the easiest read of them all. The finale to the series tackles the end of high school for LJ and Peter. Every relationship in senior year struggles with if they should stay together while they go away to college. LJ and Peter are no different. LJ has changed so much from the start, much like any girl in a long-term relationship. Your whole world revolves around each other. So when LJ doesn't get into the same college as Peter, shit starts to go downhill fast. Thankfully we are over Gen after two books, but Peter is still an emotional child I feel like. He really didn't change at all as a book character, but I am not completely upset about that. I say that because LJ even comments about it herself about him not growing up. He really acts like some boys would act in all the situations of the books. So I am not upset, I just don't like how the book wraps up with the last 10 pages or whatever it was. Put it this way, you will be on your seat till the end waiting to see what their decision is.

You also see how LJ's father getting remarried affects their family. How Kitty feels, which you could probably guess if you read the previous book. Really it is about Margot's reaction, and how the three sisters interact. To be honest, you can see how the conflict there would start. Margot didn't seem impressed with Ms. Rothschild in the least. So her being so far away and the other sisters getting to know Trina, there is bound to be conflict. Kitty is a very vocal person, and with her love for Trina, there was going to be some issues.

The sisters' relationship in this book doesn't have a big focus like the previous books. But I want to tip my hat to the writing for this. Yes, this is a romance, but in a way, these are also sister books. Book One, Lara Jean's connection to Margot and the stresses she has trying to not destroy her relationship with her. Book Two, her and Kitty seem to form a new bond and are closer than the first book. Kitty is invested in LJ and Peter. Book Three, Lara Jean is so stressed with a college that she isn't thinking about everyone before herself. She is trying to not think about her college worries, by baking away every day. So yes, the sister's aspect falls off a little, but I am not upset because this is Lara Jean's story. It is about her this time.

Jenny Han has continued Lara Jean's story in the most adorable and total Lara Jean way possible. At the time of my review, Netflix IS going to make a sequel. It deserves it in my opinion. This saga is just so perfect. I will watch the hell out of it.

Since the story is a little changed from the first book to the movie, I can see how the second book will be changed. Although, I don't see it really having to change much. I mean, really what was changed was some character backstory. Who was a first kiss and how, how they all know each other and just a little more background? It's why you can read the books and watch the movie so easy. Again, I am predicting that the book and movie will complement each other just like they did before.

Lara Jean and Peter are actually dating in this book, for real this time. It is sweet and fun. However, Lara Jean has a lot of trouble with the fact that Peter still talks to his ex, Gen, all the time. This is a very real situation. I had a similar one when I was 16. The boy is trying to be friends with the ex, but also trying to still be your boyfriend. You want to hate that he isn't 100% only loyal to LJ, but really if he was able to ditch his ex so easily, what kind of person would that make him? Right so, with that in mind, there is VALUE to this book, other than it being a teen love. Also, another love letter recipient and LJ start getting close. LJ is in a confusing time with her boyfriend always being with his ex, and getting this new fresh attention from a new boy. It is a really confusing time for her. Again, this plays out so natural that you can read right through it so fast.

Another aspect of this story other than the total teen triangle is the affect dating has on a family. Yes, you see this in the first book. The first book was Margot relationship and its effect. This is how LJ's relationship/friendships affect their whole family. How it changes interaction with a sibling and even the parent. There are different ways that LJ father changes for a couple of scenes just because of events that have happened, however, her father isn't there too much to really see that impact. It's more about Kitty. Kitty has been attached to both her sisters' boyfriends. I can relate my little sister still remembers and adores my one ex. She knows nothing of the problems we had, but to her, he was just the best.

I love these characters. I love how the story is playing out. I hope with the final book Peter starts acting like he is growing up because I feel like the progression for him is stagnant. We will see. Always and Forever, Lara Jean is next. I'm hoping to enjoy this one as much as the others.

If you are dying to read a book that has very well written characters that develop through the story this is one you should grab. I have read a few of Tessa Bailey's book now and they are top notch at character development. Seriously, I have found to love the journey of each character in each book. In each of the books that I have read, her characters connections feel real and alive. The characters all feel different in each series. They change and grow within their one book. She is definitely an author writes fantastic characters that deserve attention from everyone.

Tessa talks about where her inspiration for this story came from in the acknowledgments of the book. You absolutely need to read this. The whole time I read this all I could think about was the care and attention to detail that was put into bringing these characters story to paper.  I personally have to mention this because at the beginning of my review. I felt like the characters might not have been my style of a read. But after I read that, I had to continue. Once at the end I decided that this book was another top notch amazing read.

Belmont is a determined man who when he says he's going to do something he 100% does it to the fullest extent that it could possibly be done. Belmont would say he wants to fish in the ocean. Then he would end up getting a boat and running a successful group. That's the kind of man he is. If his family gets hurt it would be the exact same thing. He would go out of his way and do anything and everything to make it better. The only thing is he has his own flaws from a traumatic childhood incident. His character was fascinating to read while he was damaged and disturb that he wouldn't be a healthy person to be around. However, the change at the end, Tessa wrote about his smile and it wasn't like reading it. You could feel how his world had been fixed. You could feel the clouds part and you would smile with him knowing that someone so broken had managed to come up clean and refreshed out of the dirt. 

Belmont is not the only character in this story though. Sage is a lot like Belmont. She isn't broken I would say. She is a woman who grew up in the mud and fighting the shadows of the judgemental town that she felt was always following her. She was the poor girl that everyone took pity on but at the same time looked down on because of who her family was. What makes Sage an interesting character is the start of the book. Chapter one and she is leaving the man that she loves. He's the man she feels like she actually can not survive without. That is like the opposite of most happily ever after books. They do appear in other characters books in the series and have a connection before the start of this book. So you should read the first four books to understand their relationship. Which I did NOT do since I got this copy from Netgalley. So I would start from the beginning since this is the fourth book in the series. Back to Sage. She is striving for her independence from him. She wants to learn to be strong enough to be here without him. She knows she can not rely on him as her crutch anymore.

I can not say it enough. Tessa writes amazing books that are not only cut and dry happily ever after books. These are people on paper. People who have seen some things, they have experienced things. You as the reader get to watch them. You get to love them.

Indecent Exposure is a prime example of how I think a New Adult genre book should be composed. When I think of New Adult & College books, I expect to feel hopeful for love or the chance of falling in love, almost still like you're in high school. When you read it, you want to feel like the characters are mature enough to be confident or at least responsible in their lives as if they are finally beginning their life as an adult. Tessa Bailey has captured the time of being hopeful to fall in love and the maturity of having more confidence in yourself and the responsibilities of being an adult.

The characters are still young enough to be naive, and they can learn and grow as the story goes. The character development is impressive. I will say that I feel like the focus is more on Jack Garrett and his past rather than Katie. However, Katie is the perfect counter to his problem. 

Let's just say that at the start of the book Jack comes off as a typical twenty something male who is smoking hot and he knows it. He is always out bar hopping just to make the day go by. As the story develops you realize that it is more than that. Jack is a young man with a problem that he himself isn't even aware of. He is broken but oblivious to how broken he actually is. Katie is innocent and witty. I fell in love with her to a little. Jack at one point notices that she has a sense of humor but doesn't use it to flirt. That felt like a key attribute about Katie McCoy to me.


This was my first book to read by Tessa Bailey. I was #blessed by the books gods with getting an ARC to read, and I do mean blessed. I am looking forward to reading more by Tessa Bailey. This is a book that I would willingly buy no matter the cost and the cost is worth it. I was beyond happy with this read. Thankfully there is more to the series as this is the second book in the Academy series. So far there looks like there is going to be three books.

I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance. This was a charming romance that made me feel like my heart was invested in the characters and the story. I think what made the whole book so lovable was that it was written as such an amazing new adult book. However, it does have mature content obviously, it is not a young adult book. So I would say the reader should be 18 or older.

TL;DR Version - BUY THIS BOOK! It is a real book and not just a happily ever after romp read.

In any teen drama you need a few things. Family conflict, emotionally charged kids, and some average problems that seem like totally so much worse. This book hits all key items for this teen drama where the little sisters bestfriend and the older brother start to fall for each other. This is one of those taboo teen things. You don't fall for your bestfriends brother or sister. It can just become too awkward. Even just being regular friends can be tough if the siblings are just little kids. I've seen it happen with my brother and his girlfriend, they broke up and not only broke each others heart but also our little sisters.

The characters were interesting in this book because they weren't made to sound so overly dramatic that teens tend to be. Jack is a mostly content kid who from time to time deals with his grief over his father and grandfather by lashing out at those closest to him. Delia is Jack's little sister Zoe's best friend. She's an artsy type that pretty much lives at Jack and Zoe's house because her parents are always away working nights. So she is mostly alone.

I did receive a free e-copy of this book from the publisher so my review is going to be based off that.

This was a nice story to read, but I do feel like there are some things that could be improved upon. One thing is the scene changes feel clunky and snapped into place. For an example Jack was upset at one point and he just walks off. He doesn't notice anyone else around him. It's like Jack "blah blah…" and he walks away. There's was nothing like "he noticed the sad look his mother gave him as he turned away" or anything like that. As an adult reader I can assume because of the mothers feelings being expressed in other scenes of the book but I feel like things like that could have added so much more to the story.

I read the first and second book backwards. It didn't really change much for my perspective of how much I like Tessa Bailey's writing and her characters. I think she does an excellent job of writing characters who develop relationships that feel completely natural. It's not just trying to mash two archetypes together and turn out a book.

This book was a fun ride. I wouldn't call it the best. I loved the second book in the series a he'll of a lot more. It had characters that develop and grow through the story and they actually change. While Disorderly Conduct makes you think they may have grown and they really don't they just stumble into the realization they've been ignorant and immature. I guess I just wasn't super into this one as the others. I delayed on writing my reviews because of the thanksgiving holiday time frame and it really gave me a better idea of how I felt.

Ever comes from a line of family with this really weird idea that they are mistresses who should just use men for sex and have no emotional entanglements. Ok so your mom having a sex talk is one thing but having your mom say just bone that's it... weird. generations go one by accident it seems. However, Ever is an interesting person. She is nice, she is stable in her career, she has a hood sense of humor and determination. I liked her, just not this weird background.

Charlie is an obsessive stalker, but it's written in a way you want to almost forgive him. I guess the theme for this book could be determination. He was determined to have Ever. Charlie not only comes across as a stalker but also like an immature school boy. He's like running around town sabotaging Ever' s dates and stuff.

So both Ever and Charlie are like immature kids who are products of their upbringing. Neither have a clue what a relationship is or how to approach it. So obviously there with be misunderstandings, conflicts, devastation, betrayal, swooning, yada yada. Not a bad book at all. I liked it.

Misadventures on the Night Shift is a total rockstar style read. Full of heart melting song lyrics and plenty of hot kinks to keep you tied to the story. It's a pretty short book but it feels full of so much. I love how this book made me feel guilty enough for reading a smoking hot kinky scene but not regretting it at all, just like Abby. I loved how the end was written. It was brilliantly leading you on, leaving you on an edge.

Abby is just trying to get by each day and not get into any trouble. She works a boring job at a hotel and goes to her boring law school classes. She gets up and rinse & repeat on her boring little life, completely knowing that this isn't at all where she wants her life to be. She feels trapped in a life she doesn't want by her family from consequences are previous indiscretions.

Lucas is a rock star who has been around for a decade now and has been trapped in a music contract that has left him feeling trapped and drowning. He has to complete his fourth album and then he will be released from the corporate hold. However, he has writer's block and he can't be free until he produces a new single similar to the song that made him famous, to begin with. 

Things change when Abby basically cusses out Lucas for being a douche to her. That fierce attitude gave his inspiration for music and he wanted her. Lucas wanted her to himself and wanted her as his muse. This leads to a kinky roleplay proposition and a new heartbreak song he needs to free himself.

The Real Thing was a "sweet" story. Haha... lame pun that anyone who read the back of the book can come up with. Really those this book was smoking hot. With some unexpected heart melting romance. Zane comes across as a playboy actor and he is just is very confident in that sexy way. Willow is like the girl we all want to be in our early twenties. She is confident in herself with her job and around her friends and family of the town. She is amusing, and realistic. Her problem is that she has always been in love with her first love, its always there and hard to forget. So when Zane, who has been her best friend for years, propositions her with a crazy plan for his reputation... (but is it...)

Melissa Foster has created some very good characters with this book. I would say that it was a great solo book even, but I am more excited that it is part of a series. The whole family, that could use some hooking up, are full of very different characters that have different personalities, but seem loveable that you want to see the whole gangs stories unfold.

The tough and gruff cocky goaltender of the Strikers gets blindsided by a hot chick. Dallas Easton is a jerk. I'm being completely honest. At the start of the book he is a total ass and not someone you would be interested in. Obviously, things change over the duration of the story, but the start of his storyline left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall the changes he goes through seem possible but not really believable. Maybe I just can't believe a dominant male who has aggression issues and only cares about banging would switch so effortlessly to a sweet romantic gentleman. I guess what I mean is, if a guy is going to come off as a pig, at least let that core character type last more than the first meet and great with the heroine. Then again, maybe that is more possible than I think it could be.

I did like Callie Davis. She was a very likeable character. She was tough but was still a women with emotions that made you feel for her. She grew up with only brothers so that toughness comes in handy when she skates and plays hockey with them their whole lives. The way the two meet is one of the great points of the story so I won't discuss that because of spoilers, but lets just say that it starts off like a smack in the face.

This book confused me. Sometimes is came across like it was just going to be a short smut book, and then other times if felt like a true contemporary romance. I liked the overall storyline of the book, but I feel like different sections of the book where written when the author was at a different emotional place. Almost like the same person didn't write all of it. It has its flaws but overall the book was likeable, just not a favorite. I will say that this book was not predictable to me. It wasn't the usual story with what events occur. It follows a similar path to most romance books but the problems that pop up for the two were not predictable and that was nice.

This is a good book to read and I think some people may enjoy it more than others. I just wasn't a super fan of Dallas and how quickly his personality changes. I received a FREE copy from the publisher so that I would be able to rad it and offer a review. It won't be published by Loveswept and sold by Random House LLC, until October 31 as a Kindle Edition.

This is a fantastic series that helps you believe in yourself right along with the characters. It helps you gain a strength from inside that could be hard to find. So far every book in the series has built very strong characters that have had to grow and change from very tough or complicated issues in their lives. Each story touches on something that can happen to anyone. Previous books showed us a character grow past a family death, another that dealt with a teen suicide, and all the while these characters manage to find best friend and love. I think this is an excellent series and as I am invested three books in, I will be continuing to follow if there are more.

This book has the PERFECT TITLE and Cover to go with this storyline to date. Not just for this book for Brady and Riley but the teammates and girls to this point. You definitely can read this a stand alone and understand everything that has happened in this world. However, I would recommend reading from the beginning because Brady has changed so much from the start of the series with how he handled his cousin Maggie entering his life. Granted he was just a side character in the first and second book, he was a constant character so reading the whole series to the same feeling I did at the end of this is a MUST. What I mean by that is that at the end of this book, you feel complete. This could end as a trilogy and it would make sense and you would be happy with how everything turned out for these friends. It leaves you looking forward to their future and what could be to come for them. I am not just writing like I am in fan girl mode. I am a mother, and this is a series I wouldn't mind my daughter if she were a teen to read. I would have confidence that it would positively affect her.

About the book itself and Not the series, this was a wonderful way for the good ole boy Brady to finally get a clue to how the world really works. While he is getting to know Riley and how harshly this town has treated it begins to change him. It's like someone is peeling one of those painful face masks off. You know the ones that leaving you with this burning, searing hurt, but after you heal you feel fresh and renewed. Like that one thing can turn you into a completely new person. That is exactly how the chain of events in this book affect Brady. Riley also goes through a decent change from being completely closed off to the world so that her painful past won't happen again. She can't live like she did before and let this town hurt her again, especially because that would hurt her little daughter. Things change for her though, and she learns to be a friend again, and to have a friend and how much that could mean for her and her baby.

This was an amazing book, that came with new relatable struggles for these teens in this town. I have enjoyed reading about them so far, and again, I look forward to the future for them. This is a book series that I without a doubt would read over and over again. It can help you get over a very tough situation because it helps remind you that someone might have it worse, and maybe you need someone to help you get through that. And that it is ok to need someone.

Ellie has seriously always been one of the guys. She is just a normal teen who is only interested in playing hockey. The guys have always treated her like one of them, they tackle her, get into fights with her, she smack talks with them, and dresses like them. Her sister Angela is her older sister and she is the typical girlie girl and doesn't understand Ellie because of how different they are.

Then a hot California boy moved in across the street. Ellie is intrigued by him and she wants to know more. So what does a teenage girl who has no idea how to even begin interacting with boy do? Spy on him from her bedroom window duh. Ellie starts to learn his routine, and when he does his workouts shirtless in his garage. Soon, they meet and things get weird. He's a little obsessive. He likes to tease her and aggressively flirt with her which she has NO clue what to do about. So obviously she runs from him constantly. She is so confused when he even tries to hold her hand because what he makes her feel is so out of the normal from the way other boys have ever made her feel. His aggressiveness begins to freak her out, and when she sees his skills with knives that he can throw with deadly accuracy. She begins to panic at every site of him from both fear and what she doesn't know is desire.

Meanwhile, there is a serial killer on the loose. The murders started around the time that Seth moved into town. The "Saturday Night Slasher" is what the media calls the killer who is killing girls that look identical to Ellie. One is almost a perfect doppelganger for Ellie. So murder on the loose, a knife wielding neighbor with is obsessed with Ellie, and Ellie's new emotions and feeling lead to an amusing adventure.

Irresistible is a wonderfully passionate romance in the Chicago Rebels Series. Not only was this book passionate and hot, it also had the ability to woo the reader right along with the main character Harper Chase. 

Remy DuPre is an amazing man. He is the man girls dream of that will take them away to a fantasy land of love.You know the type of guy, says all the perfect things, physically perfect, makes you laugh and builds you up, um, and cooks amazing. The only thing is that Harper is not the normal girl. Let's just say daddy issues, and forcing herself to be completely closed off to any other people. Even her half sisters and she have zero connection.n It's all part of her be the boss, am the boss, take no prisoners attitude she has. 

The characters were written in a way that you can believe their progression. From Harper to being sort of cold behind her shield of stregnth, to then evolving to not only loving a man but developing what looks to be a true lasting relationship with her half sisters. Honestly, the sisters were the strongest part of the book to me. Seeing their like passive aggressive interactions slowly improve was something you hoped for while reading. It was something that Harper needed, well, ALL the sisters needed after how their father completely ruined their relationship.

I love this book! I also completely intend on getting the rest of the books in the series as they are released. If I am not mistaken, I believe it's going to follow the sisters and I really enjoyed them. I received a free ARC copy of this book from the publisher to review and I would say this was sweet and hot, and a must read.

Sweet Summer Love was like reading a soap opera that was solely focused on two characters plot. This was a good book, and a nice summer read. It made me feel nostalgic for how my relationship with my husband was like over 10 years ago when we started dating. The memories of how young we were and how much fun we had as kids. That was one of the main things that I got to take away from the book and I appreciate that.

I say that this book was like a soap opera because it didn't feel super realistic. It was an entertaining read do not get me wrong, but it felt like there was a disconnect. Like oh gasp .... and everything was fine. Granted I did drop a tear, at one part. There wasn't much internal monolog that led you to think there was any TRUE struggle for the character. What struggles they did have was just a brief emotion that their passions took over. And believe me when I say these characters have some passion.

Who knows maybe that's what was intended. There wasn't any dragging out for months like a real soap opera, which thank god for that. This was a fast paced read that I think I finished in a day.

The one thing that I enjoyed the most and it contributed to my personal nostalgia, what how the author wrote who sections in the past. They weren't always written as a memory, it was like reading it as it was happening. This made the feeling come across true and real. In my opinion, these past parts were the best parts of the book. It made ME feel a real emotion and become attached to reading more. I wanted to feel those feeling for the present but it just wasn't there.

I did enjoy this book and I think it is worth a read. I would feel this in the summertime, relaxing. It is definitely a "summer" read.

This is an ok romance read as a stand alone. But for a novella that starts a series, I would say that it is pretty good.Which I am going to do because I received a free copy to review from the publisher. Yay! Go Me! Before I started the next book in the series, Irresistible You, I wanted to start with the FREE novella that was available for my Kindle. I mean, it is Free and only 143 pages. Gobble Gobble up this book...

It wouldn't seem like much can be accomplished in such a short amount of pages but Kate Meader has done that here. It leads you into being interested in the next book in the series which stars In Skates Trouble's Addison's best friend Harper. Who is a constant throughout Addison and Ford's romance. So as a Novella it successfully does it's job to me.

Addison and Ford have a predictable romance and the conflict wasn't emotionally engaging enough. For what it is, it is good enough. Addison and Ford are both interesting and strong characters, but it was predictable. You could see where the story was going to go by the third chapter. It was something that you could daydream for yourself. I think that's why I do like it because it fits in-line with what is safe and normal to read. This only makes the book ok to me. It doesn't go somewhere else. It doesn't invoke a strong emotion for me. It is just comfortable to me. That is still ok and good, as long as it makes me want to continue the series. Which like I said, I am going to do. 

Since this was only a novella I truly do have hope for the next book in the series. Irresistible You. There is a huge difference when reading something that is essentially a prequel snippet vs. a real whole written version of the series.

Wife by Wednesday by Catherine Bybee 4 ✭

Wife by Wednesday is a billionaire baby story that feels realistic and believable with characters you feel like you would meet in real life. I wasn't sure what I wanted to rate it for a review. I decided on a 4-star rating for a few reasons. I'm going to get into the reasons shortly. The reason I decided to pick up this book other than the pretty cover is that I have seen it rated so high on Amazon. At the time of this post, the book has 1653 reviews with an average of 4.3. The other reason is that I saw it listed as a Kindle Unlimited book that had Audible along with it. I haven't listened to a book in some time and I really wanted to especially with how busy I have been preparing for my friends to come to visit.

The characters are both strong willed individuals who are completely honest and up front with each other. They have an easy-going sense of humor and their relationship feels like it builds off a friendship first. They both have so many similarities and it didn't feel like it was forced writing similarities. It just felt like a normal flow because two people you would meet on the street. They make their marriage contract and come up with their plan to meet their mutual end goal and they hit some bumps along the way. Samantha and Blake feel very real when it comes to their personalities and having emotions that feel natural.

The backstory here is Samantha runs a company called Alliance which is a matchmaking company that pairs people up with similar goals. Think of it as pairing people so they won't be lonely and to enjoy a pleasant company of another people Something your business people that don't have time for much would use. Blake wants Samantha to be his temporary wife and she agrees because it so she wouldn't have to worry about the cost of her disabled sister's care. Blake is a Duke who has to marry before his 36th birthday or he does not receive his inheritance. Spoiler alert: he also has to make his wife pregnant according to his father's addendum in his will. So this marriage of convenience turns into an "oh snap, I have to make an Heir with my contract wife". Thankfully they had already begun to build their strong friendship. Their attraction can't be avoided and they are intimate and you know how it goes from here.
